He graduated in trumpet and band instrumentation at the Conservatory of Parma and in choral music and conduction at the Conservatory of Bologna. He was a trumpet player in various orchestras such as Arturo Toscanini from Emilia Romagna and in the same time teacher at the Parma and Modena Conservatories. At the same time, he works on trascription for brass ensamble and on original composition for band – for which he has won several prizes at competitions. He has worked for publishers as Eridanea (Mantova), Molenaar (Holland) and since 1993 he is a Scomegna composer (Turin).
All of his 30 compositions have been recorded on more of 40 cd, 10 by himself in Italy (ed. Scomegna) and in Germany (ed.Carpe Diem). He has conducted several bands such as Sabbioneta (MN), G. Verdi city of Parma,"101" of Fabbrico (RE), Corpo bandistico di Albiano (TN), Trentino Wind Band (TN - first prize Valencia 1998) and as guest conductor some prestigious bands like Banda Esercito Italiana, Filarmonica G. Andreoli of Mirandola (MO), Civica of Soncino (CR- first prize Flicorno d'Oro 1999), "Euterpe" of Canicattini Bagni, "G. Verdi" city of Trieste, Fiatinsieme (TO), Horchestre d'Harmonie du val d'Aoste (AO), Wellington Winds and Wilfried Lauriel University (Canada), and recently the universitary’s bands of Jeju (Sud Korea) and Tilburg (Holland). During concerts he has collaborated with famous solists as Roger Bobo, Velvet Brown, Steven Mead, Jacques Mauger, Clement Saunier, Paolo Russo, Andrew Dahlke and other joung artists.
He is frequently invited to hold workshops both national and international, as jury member in international band competitions (Spain, France, Hungary, Germany and South Korea).
He has worked with composers and conductors such as Henk van Lijnschooten, Serge Lancen, Claude Decugis, Jan Van der Roost, Johan de Meij, Jap Koops, Andre Waignein, Hardy Mertens, Alain Crepin, Walter Ratzek, Felix Hauswirth, Franco Cesarini, Fulvio Creux, Bernard Adam Ferrero, Virginia Allen, Lee Dong-ho and others. Since 1987 he is teacher band instrumentation at the “Bonporti Conservatory” of Trento.
